The Slack integration sends monitor down/up alerts and incident notifications to a Slack channel of your choice. You can acknowledge and resolve incidents directly from the Slack message without opening the dashboard.
Connecting Slack
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack
- Click Connect Slack
- Authorize Watchplane in your Slack workspace
- Select the default channel for notifications
That’s all — Watchplane will immediately start sending alerts to the selected channel.
Changing the channel
After connecting, you can change the notification channel at any time from Settings → Integrations → Slack. Select any public channel in your workspace.
Sending a test message
Click Send test message from the Slack integration settings to confirm the connection is working. A sample alert will appear in the configured channel.
What alerts look like
When a monitor goes down, Watchplane posts a message like this:
🔴 Monitor Down: API health check
https://api.example.com/health
Status: 500 Internal Server Error
Response time: 230ms
Started: Jan 15, 10:30 AM UTC
The message includes Acknowledge and View Incident buttons. Clicking them directly from Slack updates the incident in Watchplane — no need to switch to the dashboard.
When the monitor recovers, a follow-up message is posted with the total downtime duration.
Disconnecting
Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack and click Disconnect. Watchplane will stop sending messages to your workspace.
The Slack integration is available on all plans, including Free.
